Ivan Orescanin Bariton

Ivan Oreščanin was born in Belgrade, where he received his first vocal training, with Prof. Olivera Grujic. He also studied at the University of Music and Theater in Munich with Prof. Frieder Lang and at the Theatre Academy August Everding.
In 2000 he won the first Prize at the National Competition of Serbia , in summer of 2004 he was a finalist at the International Singing Competition "Debus in Merano", and in 2007 he won the Kulturkontaktpreis at Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition in Vienna.
Until now he played numerous roles in operas, such as Don Giovanni, Count Almaviva and Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro), Belcore (L´elisir d´amore), Enrico Ashton (Lucia di Lammermoor), Papageno (Die Zauberlöte), Father (Hansel and Gretel), Ruggiero (Alcina), Nardo (La finta giardiniera), Demetrius (A Midsummer Night's Dream), Marcello & Schaunard (La Bohème), Biterolf (Tannhäuser), Pantalone (Love for Three Oranges), and operetta roles such as Dr. Falke (Die Fledermaus), Count Danilo (The Merry Widow), Gasparone, and Agamemnon ( The Beautiful Helen).
Since 2006 he is a member of the Opera Graz ensemble. As a guest singer, he performed in Augsburg, Würzburg, at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, in Ingolstadt, at the opera festival in St. Margareten in Austria, and the Chiemgau Music Festival in Germany.
Furthermore he performed as Count Danilo in "The Merry Widow" on a tour in Switzerland with the Orchestre Symphonique Neuchâtelois.
In summer 2010 he starred at the 11th Opera Festival in St. Moritz (CH) as Figaro.
He performed numerous concerts in Germany, Austria, Poland, Serbia, Switzerland, Taiwan and the USA. His concert repertoire includes Sacred Music by Bach, Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Rossini, Faure, Janacek and Pärt and the song cycles of Schubert, Schumann, Mussorgsky and Britten.
